Jim's Steaks
There are over 2,000 steak shops in Philadelphia, but only one Jim's! A local tradition since 1939, Jim's Steaks specializes in the mouthwatering Philadelphia Cheesesteak. When the stars are in town, they always come to Jim's. Not only will your appetite be satisfied, but you'll feel the South Street energy as you stand inside Jim's Steaks, with its gleaming, black and white tiles. A Philadelphia landmark-photographs and autographs of celebrities brighten the upstairs and downstairs walls. If you're in the mood for people watching, just stare out the windows to your heart's content, or relax and look at vintage photographs of Philadelphia in the 1930's. Open Mon-Thurs, 10am-1am; Fri-Sat, 10am-3am; and Sunday from Noon-10pm.

Best steaks ever! Great work guys!
byJohn Haralson, October 26, 2005
I live in Virginia, around D.C. My father was born and raised in NJ just across the Delaware River, and is a huge Philadelphia sports fan. That same love for Philly teams rubbed off on me, and a trip up to philly to see a game is never complete unless we go to Jims Steaks on South St. I cannot even begin to explain how good they are, but I do know that my mouth is watering right now just thinking of one. Go to Jims and experience it for yourself. Wait in line if you have to. Who cares. Don't waste your time with Genos or any of those other places (Geno's uses steak slabs, they dont chop). Thanks for the great steaks Jims!
