South Street Performer's Series

The South Street Headhouse District held its first ever Street Performer Series.  An overwhelming response of over 35 performers, from bands to solo artists; balloon artists to body painters, auditioned via video submissions and  live auditions.  The top ten performers were selected by the SSHD Executive Board, as well as some of Philadelphia‘s elite, including:

Rose Farrales, Manager of On Demand Programming for Comcast; Melvin “Boom” Lewis, founder of Noizetrip, a music production company which has worked with artists such as Fergie and Lady GaGa; Maori Lewis, President of The Black Lily Film and Music Festival; and Tayyib Smith, publisher and co-founder of Philadelphia’s latest, hippest publication, Little Giant Media’s two.one.five Magazine.  The selected performers are set to showcase their craft throughout the summer, every weekend throughout the district, through Labor Day Weekend.
